"Gurteen Inspired Conversation Cafes" have been inspired by my Knowledge Cafes.
A knowledge café is a simple means for a group of people to have an open, creative conversation on a topic of mutual interest to gain a deeper collective understanding of the subject and the issues involved.

Knowledge Cafes are generic and can be held on any topic while Gurteen Community Cafes are cafes held around the world for members of the Gurteen Knowledge Community and focus on knowledge management, learning, personal development and related subjects.
Gurteen Inspired Conversation Cafes are again a little different in that they are regular 'knowledge cafe style' events on different themes but are inspired by my Knowledge Cafes.
They are totally independent of me but I have helped inspire them and have helped get them off the ground with encouragement, support and information on how to run them. I also help to promote them via this website.

your cafe should have been inspired by my work and be broadly in keeping with my concept of a conversational cafe
you may call your cafe what you like
you may run it how you like
you are totally independent of me
your cafe should be free and non-commercial
you should use my cafe logo on your marketing material - website, posters etc.
In return I commit to provide
a logo
a page on my site for you to promote your cafe
access to additional detailed information about running a cafe
limited web-based support to help get you started
a discussion forum for cafe facilitators (when we have few more cafes up and running)
