Talent should be seen as a critical and scarce resource. The “War for Talent” will distinctly escalate over the coming decade, and 20th century management practices are proving increasingly ineffective with 21st century employees.
The Certified Talent Economist program aims to provide HR practitioners the learning, practice and modern strategies in the HR industry. This program calls for a new proactive and strategic approach to talent management, designed specifically for a 21st century workforce. This program is based on the best-selling book, Talent Economics, which uses economic inquiry – the study of how the forces of supply and demand allocate scarce resources – as a discipline to represent a picture of how the 3 billion strong global workforce is changing and how this change is challenging current management mindsets.
Video: Conference Conversations: KC UK 2007
One thing a chairperson can easily do at a conference do make them more engaging and interactive is to allow the participants to have a short conversation with each other after a speaker has finished their talk but before entering the Q&A.
Here is a short video of people doing this at the Ark Groups KC UK Conference in London in June 2007.
It works amazingly well.
