About David Gurteen

My name is David Gurteen and I am an independent Knowledge Management consultant, speaker and facilitator. I help people to share their knowledge; to learn from each other; to innovate and to work together effectively to make a difference!.

You will find a short biography of me here: Short Biography  and a more formal curricula vitae or resume here: Curricula Vitae

Fifty Lessons recently filmed me for a series of short stories on knowledge management. Each video story is about five minutes in length. If you would like to watch them see here: Fifty Lessons Videos

These short high quality videos will give you a very good picture of who I am, my style and the values I represent.

The Gurteen Knowledge Community
I am the founder of the Gurteen Knowledge Community. The Community is a global learning community for people who are committed to making a difference: people who wish to share and learn from each other and who strive to see the world differently, think differently and act differently.

The Gurteen Knowledge Website
The Gurteen Knowledge Website is primarily a resource for the Gurteen Knowledge Community. It focuses on the themes of knowledge management, learning, creativity, innovation and personal mastery. It has thousands of pages of information including: articles, people profiles, book reviews, job vacancies, site-links, quotations, stories, events, downloads, forums and more. In addition, it contains features such as an integrated weblog, RSS feeds and e-mail alerts to inform people to new books, conferences and jobs. The website is a single Lotus Domino application that I develop and maintain myself.

Gurteen Community Cafes
Gurteen Community Cafés are learning communities. And are the regular meetings of the Gurteen Knowledge Community. Their purpose is to bring people together to learn from each other in order that they may make a difference. They are currently held in several cities around the world.

Gurteen Knowledge Cafes
Gurteen Knowledge Cafés are facilitated mini-workshops where the participants engage in open conversation on a topic of mutual interest.. They are about networking, knowledge sharing and learning from each other - not chalk-and-talk. The outcome for the participants is what they take away as individuals that they can act on and do differently - immediately!

The Gurteen Knowledge Letter
The Gurteen Knowledge Letter is a free monthly newsletter that is distributed to members of the Gurteen Knowledge Community. Its purpose is to stimulate thought and interest in subjects such as Knowledge Management, Learning, Creativity, Personal Development and the effective use of Internet technology.

The Gurteen Knowledge Weblog
I created one of the first knowledge weblogs in March 2002 and am an active 'blogger' and I am well known in the 'KM blogging' community.

Articles  and Publications
I frequently write articles; many of which you can find online. Other articles have also been published in on-line and off-line magazines and journals.

Services
I offer several services.

Schedule
You may view my past and upcoming work schedule.

I am an avid networker. I naturally love to help people to 'make their knowledge productive'. If you think I could help, I am more then happy to take the occasional phone call or e-mail or meet for lunch though clearly I charge for more substantial consulting, coaching or other support.

If you would like to talk or learn more about any of my services then please contact me.

Video: BLU Lesson 6: A little about my background by David Gurteen

One of six BLU lessons where I talk a little about my background.

In April 2005, BLU, the UK's Business Link University which no longer exists hired Fifty Lessons  to produce a series of video stories for them to which I (David Gurteen) was invited to contribute. This is one of those stories.
